I doubt you been around for 40yrs or you would know Diana Ross didnt sing on 18 no.1 pop songs singing off key. that would make the Public DEAF. and I dont think thats the case. more like you may be tone deaf. no this is not the greatest performance. she sounds Much better LIVE today. off key. hmm depends on your defination and ear preference.The rest of us know what this woman can and Have done with her voice.

She doesn't sound good here. Sounds off key and like karaoke to me. It's only embarrassing because it's being broadcast on TV. To sound like this for one song maybe during a concert is fine, but this is national TV. And American Idol is sold around the world.
If a singer isn't in good voice at that time, they shouldnt sing, or at least use a backing track..

@Alvin4NY I understand,but to say she has never sang a song on key is a false statement and an insult to her craft and career. She has earned her stripes in the music world and can sing off key if she chooses to do so.try singing professionally for over 40 years,and see if your voice will always be on key....everyone doesnt have to like Ms. Ross as a singer, but to deny her talent is just simply HATING on her...
