The season finale, 25 Years with Carmon, celebrates Maestro DeLeone's contributions to the Southland and tenure as Music Director during his final season in that post, with works by two American composers who greatly influenced his life -- George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein. The program includes Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, performed by revered Chicago-based pianist Kevin Cole, who has been described by the Chicago Tribune as "...the best Gershwin pianist in America today," and selections from Bernstein's Mass and Candide. The concert will also feature vocalist Benjamin Warschawski and the South Suburban Chorale under the direction of Al Jackson. This concert is sponsored by Bimba Manufacturing and St. James Hospital and Health Centers.
