First Turbo rc heli in the world as far as I know, the turbine side of the turbo a bit on the large side, but it makes power despite of it.
Just some video of the heli on the ground.
More vids to come when I´ll get more fuel and time to test more.

  • is this to get more boyracers into helis? "oooo look its got a turbo on it!" wank wank wank. maybe some big turbo stickers down the side will work :)

  • @mark675 Well no, to be honest, I made something and liked the idea of putting it on a heli engine.

I build 2 stroke racing engines, and this is just for the fun of it. That's the purpose of having a hobby, to have fun.

  • So did you make it yourself?

  • Thanks guys, yes the turbo is selfmade prototype.

Will be making a new turbine wheel when I´ll have time to do it.

Turbine wheel is the first part that I made and it´s more suited to a bigger engine.

  • why didnt it fly?

  • @fightercar This is not a car, this is a two-stroker and it is using a tuned pipe so it shouldn't be mounted directly on the engine or you will mess up the exhaust resonance and kill performance. Even cars have turbine systems mounted all the way back on the exhaust where the muffler should be. Plus, this engine is designed to run at its power-brand at all times so the lack on response time is compensated while the main rotor is gaining speed.

  • ta wrong that installation of the turbine

  • were did u get the turbo

  • The only way to effectively 'super' or 'turbocharge' a engine like this is to use an expansion chamber on the exhaust. It simply uses pressure waves to scavenge exhaust from the cylinder, and then a partial new charge, then pushes the partial new charge back through the exhaust port into the cylinder once the piston has passed the intake port, thus creating 'boost'.

Enemy though, the tiny turbo is cool...what's the brand/part#/specs...I'm sure I could use it for something....

  • @theCROfna Monkeys learned to walk on two legs by themselves, by crossing rivers. This is how we evolved to walk on two legs. =D

  • does that improve anything on the heli?
