"I can't believe we're actually here," Melissa screeches, her smile stretching across her face. New York City was a lot more crowded than I had initially expected. The streets are filled with millions of yellow taxis and cars. The buildings swarm every inch of the city. Neon lights were the only things lighting up the entire area.
"I know it's amazing." Melissa is marveling at the city, as I reach for the map. "8 more miles and we're at our apartment!" I yell excitedly.
We finally reach the apartment building 15 minutes later. It's located right in Manhattan, right across from Central Park, on the corner of 96th Street. "You didn't tell me it was right beside Central Park?!" I say, playfully hitting Melissa.
"Well, I didn't know!" I park the car right beside the apartment, The Westmont. We enter side-by-side into a bright lobby, covered in mirrors. After checking in, the both of us go up to our apartment on the top floor.
In the furnished apartment, the living room is the first thing you see, and the kitchen is to the left. Melissa immediately runs into one of the bedrooms, screaming, "THIS IS MINE!"
I laugh as I check out the other bedroom. It has a walk-in closet and its own private bath. To top it all off, it has a personal patio, overlooking Central Park. "Wow," I mutter, as I go out onto the patio.
"How do you like it, Andrea?" Melissa asks, walking into my new bedroom.
"I love it!" I run to her and hug her tightly. "This is going to be amazing!" She just laughs and nods.
That night, we sit down at our dining table for dinner. "Our first meal together in our new apartment," I start, holding up a wine glass with water in it.
"Mac 'n' cheese," she says. "What could be better?" She lifts up her own glass. "We should make something like New Year resolutions."
"Yeah, like, some oaths and promises," I say, agreeing. "You first."
"Okay I promise to always keep my bedroom clean," she says and we laugh. "And I promise to get a good job, so we can always keep up with our rent."
"Good idea," I say.
"Now you."
"I also promise to get a good job to keep up with the rent. And I promise to start anew and not fall in love with anyone while in this city." We both nod, understand the reason for that pledge.
"Amen, sister," Melissa says, edging her glass toward mine. We knock our glasses together too hard and spill water everywhere. Instead of panicking, we just laugh at each other. "I'll go get the paper towels," Melissa says, dying of laughter.
"Okay," I say, also giggling loudly.

Yes, I know this comment took forever. I seriously have had this video pulled up for 48 hours until I finally decided to read/comment. (I knew if I closed it I'd forget to :P) So, basically I'm a lazy ass procrastinator and you should yell at me for it. :)
Anyways, I really enjoyed the episode, it was cute and VERY real, which is always nice. :D I can't wait for this story to really start moving--you BETTER post up soon! :P
