I only recently got shown Per Nilsson's playing... gatdamn does he have some interesting phrasing and very smooth chops.
I'm playing my Blackmachine B2, with a new set of pickups - Bare Knuckle Rebel Yell in the bridge, and a VHII in the neck. What wonderful sounding pickups, they dominate pretty much any style out there. I couldn't be happier with them.

In case people aren't aware, I teach lessons via Skype and in person. Get in touch with me by emailing nolly@redseasfire.co.uk if you want more details!\

From the link below, you can download a .pdf tab I made of how I play the solo. It may or may not be accurate.

  • Hey Nolly, thanks for huge help you've gave me choosing the rebel yell! One more question, I'm looking for neck pickup to match. I'd love the painkiller neck from what I've heard from clips and descriptions, but would it match the rebel yell. Would it be to hot for it. If not what could you recommend to be similar. Again, thanks for the help Nollster!

  • @JoshuaLoG1

Yep, I think the Painkiller would be a bit on the hot side. If you want a pickup with similar (if not more) definition, check out the Riff Raff. You'll have to work a bit harder because of the lower output, but the payoff is extreme clarity, dynamic response and open voicing. It'll be unforgiving, but you'll be a better player for it.

  • No joke, I make it an everyday thing just to watch this video and hear that note on the 19th fret. Those pickups are nothing to fuck with.

How much would a pair of those cost me? I just got a pair of 81/85EMGS and personally I am extremely dissatisfied.

  • @summitthescale Ah, thanks dude, glad you dig the video!

I see you're in the US, so search google for a guitar shop called The Axe Palace in Boston - they are Bareknuckle dealers who sell on much cheaper than it would work out if you imported a set direct from BKP.

  • mouth watering Nolly love that juicy playing. Is the rebel yell tighter than the JB for metal playing by the way? sounds sick

  • really great cover..

could u please tell me ..

did you picking the notes from 0:17 - 0:19 ?

or just the left hand hammer on and off ?

    thank you

  • You sound just like him! I've seen so many attempts and no one has his magic but you. And I thought you were good enough when I saw you master Marty Friedman! I want to hear your own songs because you are easily one of the most polished guitarists to upload a video on this site.

  • yeah ! Thanks for tab :">

  • @cowcrusher you don't have to sweep at the end of the solo, thats not how it actually sounds on the song, either. that end part is actually tapped, but Nolly chose to show off =p

  • @metalmasster Gotta be some campfire chord player
