Green Jelly began life as Green Jello in 1981 in Kenmore, New York. The name was chosen due to the band's poor opinion of that flavor, and they decided that it also appropriately reflected the quality of their music. The band never attempted to be good, deciding instead to "disguise their lack of ability with stupid props," as their liner notes put it.

A side note, I have taught English in Japan to many little kids. In Japanese, 'Chin-chin' means penis. Whilst reciting this fable to them in English, one they know well as "Sanbiki no kobuta" (Three little pigs), and also naming bodyparts with them, I found I got plenty of giggles during both.
I explained what 'ago' (the jaw) is in English. They demanded "Tell us again, what is 'ago' in English?" I said it's "Chin". Then they would ask, "What is 'ago ago' in English? Giggles galore.
Love it. Thanks heaps for posting. I prefer the original versions of the story where the unprepared pigs were gobbled up. It teaches the message more effectively. The modern version, where they survive and run away to their next, better prepared brother, appeals to Disney stuff. Please watch "The Lazy Mouse and the Industrious Mouse (Ricky Gervais)".
