I Make my way back to the motorcycle and hit the switch. The door opens and i go through. I fight a monster that takes a lot of damage. Once he is dead I go down an elevator. I continue through hallways and doors until I come to a storage room. I make my way through the storage room and continue fighting more monsters.

And, i've got to say, you can ration your items, but if you keep "saving the rifle for later", you may never use it :-(.

You need to learn to distance yourself away from your enemies. Doing so can prevent you from going in mp draining pyro happy mode.
