controlled if your body is rigid on the wrist-elbow-shoulder line. If your body is controlled, you have no balance, and thus no offensive power. You will then be put into joint locks that will damage or destroy your joints. Direct damage due to locking or hyper extension is actually just a beginner's mistake. Something that can be avoided. Giving control of your body to the enemy is a lot more serious. Which is why you don't lock the elbows out like that if you can avoid it.

Taiji Chuan requires the center, the line down through the top of the head, must be stable, and the left and right sides are the rotators. This allows the ying/yang to create a differential, much like slipping in wing chun or turning. Because wing chun rotates on a center line, to either side when there's too much force, Boxers have figured out that jabbing with the elbow in is a lot faster and more powerful for same reason. The primary reason isn't damaged joints. It's that yor body can be

@sloppymantis yeah we use it.. because we dash.. only way we can run up is in circular.. or natural walk or the triangle of course.. but i can understand wat you mean with the hunched back.. affected the curving and standing straight.. how can you defend from a body .. cuz looks like it can barge thru.. i mean thats why we do 70 30& light/flat foot. when it hits us the body becomes imm tight.. and we can counter flow.... i can understand..everyone has their choice of gateway, and health

@walking1way circular as in..hmm depending on how to move around.. the person.. cuz the stance u have.. ive had for awhile.. but in respect.. my country uses that guard to with sticks.. in close quarters XD so if i want to move naturally like natural walking or the classic.. shuffle.. but on this stance.. the yyt,,i'll use it to cut space.. but the bigon variant..with more boxer footwork cuz im on the ball.. i can shuffle in circles.. but with yyt.. i will walk circles around XD depends =D

@walking1way ...but what matters mostly is the gate..the punch&block depends but its on the curve thats inportant& leg balance thats important give var. .i changed it cuz the hinged door counter in ..and cuz i can conserve breathe. .but we dont train this all the time..but this is a defensive mechanism . when in defense..ifwe must..its to ride a hit..my vid i sed i wont show leg..but i did show in a previous one..how too put the gate is psychological too..=) this guard is diff from the norm lol

i mean yo make a reasonable argue.. also.. leg foot placement as well.. in defense.. i mean to say.. this cage.. my cage.. is slightly passive yes.. i use upright.. when bursting.. you cant burst with my cage.. but you can guard body.. with elbows..... neck, and vertebrae.. damage can happen.. but i want to absorb impact from there crown, and not pushed back from when passed my bridge hmm more to say.. but footwork comes in play as well.. and this fw.,. is forward.. and side.. b
but circular?.. its the yim yee tai

@walking1way I am also trying to absorb impact.. without losing my stance.. I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Yim Yee.. ? From Mt. tai leung? and when you say circular do you mean a round attack?

@sloppymantis hmm ooh you got the stance..i mean thats the stance yim yee tai after yim yi kim yeung ma,, the stance doesnt need to be that guard hehe its comes as step back hands up.. guard asdefense mechanism i mean.. hm the balance is on a 70 30.. but the back is arched on lordosis kiphosis lordosis....as though when back is straight on yykym..this is a variant of the bigon stance..i want hands up to guard the face cuz in experience ppl will strike to head..if one strikes body..then..

@walking1way Ah yes yim yi kim yeung ma! Squarely facing... I try to favor 50/50 balance on legs as much as possible to make it easier to change position quickly. Ying yee tai is what I was using? I do not have a name for the stance.. In regards to curved spine and chin down.. and shoulders up.. I will stay with straight spine and so on because to me it is safer for my body.. you were saying they use this stance in kali.. escrima.. with sticks?
