Roland JX-3P and PG-200

I wrote a very basic step sequence which I synced to a drum machine. I scrolled thru a few presets and tweaked them on the fly. I used the PG-200 but I'm getting ready to sell it because I find I can get cool results just using the synth's internal edit set-up! The JX-3P sounds awesome and definately has its own character. My cat Oscar heard the racket and insisted getting involved half way thru!

Dude, I actually tried several times to see if I could get him to do something like that but Oscar has almost zero tolerance for nonsense He is just TOO cool. I did give him 15 sec of fame on another video "Oscar the Beatbox Cat." I held him up in front of the camera and made some rude noises. He wasn't too happy doing it - but laid on my desk while I edited the video and dug the sounds. We rescued him from a shelter and his attitude is like "what took you cretins so long?!" lol

they are on Ebay all the time. there is probably one on Ebay right now - check it out and good luck! The PG-200 is awesome - they are built so much better than the plastic PG-800. I use mine with my MKS-30 and my Roland GR-700 guitar synth.

The MKS-30 is the rackmount version of the keyboard I use in this video - the JX-3P. You would need some kind of midi keyboard to trigger the MKS-30, but its a great synth.

BTW did you open it up and tweak up the resonance pots any? even a slight bit is supposed to give it more bite at the top... ?

I'm currently working on a 'super jx-3p' which is going to be my synth + tweaks/midi expansion and built in programmer (though not a PG-200)

are you using an external sequencing hardware to sequence this keyboard? or is it sample & hold? either way do you know of a really good hardware sequencer? with midi of course

hey man do you know there' s an amazing JX3P Upgrade kit avaible at Kiwitechnics . gives all the new functions that new synth have ( portamento , 2 nd LFO , better enveloppes, arpeggio , trancegate , full sysex and MIDI CC control .. . and so on

every JX-3P owner should definitely check for it
