Metroid Remix: Lone Hunter

This is a dramatic remix of various and popular Metroid themes in commemoration of the series' 25th anniversary.
Happy Birthday, Samus. :)

This piece was written largely in Music Studio (for the IPhone/IPad) with additional editing in GarageBand.
Composition time: Approximately 8 hours

As previously stated, the song contains verses and elements from several different in-game themes layered with an original beat pattern, mostly original chord progressions and improvisational piano solos.

I believe the song is whole in and of itself, therefore I will leave it to you to identify the Metroid themes used here without my listing them. Some are quite obvious, and some are more subtle (Dark Samus' for example makes a brief cameo). Listen well...

I started this project quite unexpectedly. I was unsure of what to create for this commemorative release. I settled into creating a remix of Metroid's original Brinstar theme, which I still haven't finished. I lacked the driving passion that fueled my best work, and the music reflected that. I thought I'd never have anything to show. Then, on the evening of August 6th, I randomly started humming this song. I became enraptured by the idea and found the drive that let me finish faster than ever before, despite the song's length. This is, in fact my longest remix to date.

@koolbob1872 Elements from Phendrana are scattered throughout the entire song, beginning around 1:12. The Prime 2 title theme is itself a remix of older versions of the song, and bits of those older tracks are here as well.

For Metroid Soup, add ● a ladle Red/Brinstar' soil (if you like dirt)... ● add some cockpit music of desired ● a hint of the title original title theme ● add Phendrana Ice ● some jazz onion at 1:56 ● add some Echoe's ominous red whine at 2:58 ● add Space Pirate blue-root ● Tallon Ferns make a great seasoner ● Add Runda's ice for a great compliment to Phendrana's (while checking out the recipe, we have an excellent Trilogy Menu at our restaurant!) ● Add more jazz onion at 5:20 ● Serve and enjoy!

@DekrosnaArcana Of course i played Other M.. i bought the wii for 2 reasons: 1) Metroid Prime trilogy 2) Metroid Other M.. I still have them both :D Haven't passed Other M on hard yet though... Yet we know about Adam Malkovich, it appears to be one hell of a commander considering the respect Samus has of him... It would be fun to play him nonetheless, but i think i would like to play as a flying pirate trooper, or a Pirate commando... Would be awesome :)

But online anyone can fight and beat anyone so, if Adam falls, it will be you to blame.. haha There are some hunters that draw my attention, such as trace, or noxus.. Would love to see what moves, weapons, specials, suits and other things they have...

@samy29987 I agree playing against other people online would be VERY interesting... See who is the best. Most people would take Samus but me... I'd take Commander Adam Malkovich for the simple fact that Samus has too much respect towards him to even want to attack him Fed troopers would not attack him either so that leaves the Space Pirates AND the other Bounty Hunters. In truth I don't know what they would do with the idea... I just know that I would play the game and have fun.

I know Metroid isn't a first person shooter per se... It is a First Person Adventure.. But if Nintendo wants Metroid to be at the top of FPS games and win the money they expect, they MUST create online gaming... And that is VERY radical, considering we haven't seen online play in a metroid game before... And the 'changing character' is another radical idea... :) Do you have any??? Would like to read them :)

I completely agree with you on that. They need to do something drastic (Not Other M drastic) but something drastic as in something new and out there... something unexpected. and what you are stating would be just that... unexpected.

@DekrosnaArcana And as for the first person adventure and gameplay, change things a bit... Don't make everything about Samus, we all know what she's capable of... Let other hunters take part in the role a lot more, I'm thinking about an invasion from the pirates to the GF planet itself.. and changing character depending on the situation, i don't know, im thinking as i write.. And a lot other ideas are out there, but they need to do something new and radical if they truly want to revive metroid..
