Tales of Tomorrow was a 1950's science fiction television series that aired live on ABC from 1951 to 1953. This episode, "Ice from Space," aired on August 8th, 1952.

In this episode the United States launches a rocket, the AR-76, which does not return to earth when expected. When it does return, it lands on a nearby ranch. The rocket is immediately returned to base and examined. A large block of mysterious blue ice is discovered in the rocket. No one understands how it got in the rocket or exactly what it is.

The base commander, Major Dozier, quarantines the base while his scientist begins to study the mysterious blue ice. What the scientist determines is that the ice is emitting radiation at a rapidly increasing rate and there is no way to stop it from spreading across the country or the world. It is up to Major Dozier to find a solution.

Paul Newman plays the role of Sergeant Wilson. Another familiar face, without a toupee, is Congressman Burns, played by Raymond Bailey, also known as Milburn Drysdale of the Commerce Bank of Beverly Hills on the Beverly Hillbillies.
