Lots of wind blows through so kite surfing is a great alternative lots of friendly locals

Cold enough that you'll need a 4/3 wetsuit minimum. Lots of people use 5/3's.
Water temps are cold as hell. I think they get down to like 3-4C in winter. Don't quote me on that though. Winter storms are what brings in the big waves. I've been out there surfing while it's snowing, hailing, you name it.

I'm not sure who it was, but a fair amount of the local talent was out in the water that day.
Should also mention that this was actully a small wave on that day. They got about twice this size on a good set. Absolutly incredible.
