Some rare live numbers with EC!! This is the only version of the Yardbirds performing this rockin lil' number "Little Queenie" that I have ever heard. Also is a different version of "Too Much Monkey Business" than what is normally heard. I do not know the year or club these songs were performed at. I have two more parts of this performance. Also note: I think the recordings are a tade bit slower than normal speed. Enjoy the rareness!! = )

  • Wait, you're saying this is recorded at "slower than normal speed" and Clapton sounds like he does? The Guitar riffs are incredible.

There's got to be some company who will put this out - Check with the surviving members of the band they might be able to help you and get some royalities for themselves.

  • @1blastman It was Yardbird68 who posted the tracks and he pretty much has all the stuff I recorded from TV when the outstanding 19 year old Eric Clapton was playing these amazing riffs. I well remember his shimmy to front of stage as he played. I tried to get the record company interested but they weren't. I thought they could remaster them and issue a CD but it wasn't to be. Unfortunately the TV company either didn't record the live show or keep the tapes if they did. What a mistake!

  • @b2dmc YO! Can you post some more? I'm an lifetime Yardbirds fan from back in the day. This material is amazing - equal or superior to "Five Live" Clapton is truly "Slowhand" here.

  • Thanks so much for this! Brilliant. Can't believe we can't get it on CD. Someone must know of this.

  • This is good.

It is hard for me to believe that Keith Relf is doing vocals on "Little Queenie" .

    All the best ..................

  • Have just come across these tracks and was surprised to discover that they were copies of my own recordings from 1963-64 - I have the 'mastertapes' which were recorded on my Philips reel-to-reel. I can confirm the source of these live performances if Yardbird68 is interested and can tell me how he got the copies. I only copied them to 2 sources (that I know of). Same for Parts 2 & 3.

  • @dljone9 - Most welcome mate! Yes....Lil' Queenie kicks big time!!
