The attack upon ebaY Top Rated Sellers continues...
with special guest appearances by John D "Bonzohoe", ebay's train driving mascot and Batboy "ebay shopping"

ebay has had an uncorrected critical safety flaw now for about 12 years.

here are a few fun facts revealed in earlier videos:

About 1 in every 5 ebay accounts has been hacked or hijacked.

Estimates from security experts are that 10,000 ebay accounts are hijacked/hacked/ID's stolen each month

ebay's stated policy is to blame the victims of fraud which they allow on their site by virtue of shoddy security, poor reporting procedures, and uncorrected security flaws, censorship

Follow-up/preface with screencaptures of the other victims here:
the hackfest continues.

  • i think you should stay clear of anything with cowboy in the title

  • @thumper444 When I first saw that username, it reminded me of a Kid Rock song. I hope there's not more to it. LoL

  • hey can you tell me what this mean You will not receive a Final Value Fee credit

  • @MRSAT3C

Usually that means your item didn't sell, but it could be all sorts of things. You can relist it free/get the credit, IF it sells the second time under normal circumstances. The way they change the policies it could be different this week. You should probably go look at ebay help or call them

  • @MRSAT3C I meant your item possibly didn't *actually sell for reasons such as non paying bidder, possibly administrative cancellation. Again it could be due to all sorts of things, depending...

BTW, It would seem that ebaY counts, as $uccess, all 'successfully' ended listings even when they are NPBs.

  • It's an eBay HACK O Rama Sale! LOL!

  • @ebaydirtylaundry

I thin k anyone paying attention can see that this is hacking, not simply account take overs. Hackers have the ability to place the listings instantly, multiples of the very same high end items, etc. They bypass whatever 'filters' eb claims to have

How is it that ebay can make bots to detect phrases like "I accept cash, money orders, checks", yet they can't make one to stop the listing of these fake items?

They also placed limits upon sellers by # & type of items, $ amnt

  • @MRSAT3C That means eBay needs the money. I guess that PayPal rolling reserve is not enough!

I hope those sellers that their accounts were hijacked gets refunded by eBay for the fees the scammer charged to their account. But they most likely will encounter another Glitch and have to battle eBay for a credit.
