@unitedpopper Fayetteville is a dead place. Oak Island in NC has beach gold, most of the placers are in charlote and west. I live near wilmington so there isnt much gold here either. Although my friend was digging a sand pit with a excavator and i saw some good sized quartz in a blue clay. I test a tuna can full and got a few little pieces. I was shocked! Good luck

@elgreba BTW, we haven't gotten back into that creek yet. Too hot! Danny, Nugget and I have been busy doing other things this summer. We need to somehow drag a dredge into that creek and see what it really holds. Again, thanks for the comment.

@fishing7231 We are in creek # 5. Many of the creeks we prospect in have no names. Some are only intermittent creeks depending on rain. This creek has no name so we call it by number.
