Wow. Words can't describe how awesome this is. I agree with holychild2006: 8 minutes of pure joy. The two songs go together perfectly -- they come from the same feeling place deep down in the soul. And it's a place only rock and roll can speak to in a certain way. Bravo, Adam, bravo, bravo.

@ElGoodo I like it as well, but I like the original too. More than anyone else, I think Counting Crows are genuine musicians (which is why they've lasted so long). Very rarely to they tweak a song where I dislike EITHER version. It's just nice to fall in love with a song all over again. (It's sort of like a solid cover version, but it's the same band, so it's even better, if not equal, to the original.)

Love this version of Rain King, think the one of the iTunes live at Soho might be a little better (at least the Thunder Road part). People complain this version is too slow and depressing compared to the original but I love it, this version has so much more depth musically.
