Thank you for this posting. I am of Irish blood and spent a lot of time with elderly people as a child and thank God that I have managed to remember their ways and traditions and stories. Modern Ireland is fast becoming a multi-racial soup in which our own Irish voices and traditions are fading. I believe such documentaries are invaluable. Thank you again.

That was the remake of the Wicker Man and the original with Christopher Lee and Edward Woodward was a far superior movie.

I love the illustrations from Brian Frouds book about Faries, one of my most treasured books, it almost seems as if he had real faries for models, spectacular talent.

WHAT!?!?!? excuse me mate please explain more about that staement. i LIVE in ireland beside the mountain that the tuatha de danann first landed in ireland,sliabh an iarann. and this conflict was a cover up for the existance of fairies. please explain

Watched a really interesting movie recently about a man searching for a stolen child (he was played by nick Cage). it led him to an island where the people practised an ancient celtic faith.. It was a feminist matriarchal society somwhere in the U.S. It was not Nova Scotia but would have been a nice addition had it been...I noticed that in the children's classroom there was Gaelic on the blackboard...So interestin !!! Gaelic language has absorbed the Irish pagan respect for 'female' ...

Do you believe that conflict in Ireland may have something to do with trying to cover the existance of fairies? Just a random thought, it's interesting.
I believe there's some left - most likely in the Republic of Ireland. I also do believe they were killed by air pollution from cars and industry. As well as their empires being destroyed by farming and housing earlier than that.

Funny that you say that because in the documentary one of the characters refers to the fact that the electricity killed all the ghosts!
In reference to the conflict... I don't know. In Ireland everything goes back to the land. Very pagan all of it.
