Airbourne's Joel O'Keeffe is surprisingly underrated singer considering how great singer he is: he has really wide vocal range and his highs are really powerful. O'Keeffe sounds a bit like Bon Scott sometimes but is actually a low tenor whereas Scott was a tenor. O'Keeffe's singing style is also a bit more aggressive than Scott's and he tends to hit some really high notes with lots of rasp added as an effect.
1. 0:00 - "Chewin' the Fat" (what a song title) with lows bottoming around B2.
2. 0:13 - Subtle and quick grunt around G2 from "Fat City".
2. 0:17 - Growly lows from "No Way but the Hard Way" bottoming around full F♯2s and fry E2s.
3. 0:43 - Solid E2s from "Born to Kill".
4. 0:56 - O'Keeffe's lowest full note, E♭2, from "My Dynamite Will Blow You Sky High (And Get Ya Moanin' After Midnight)" (another epic song title).
5. 1:00 - O'Keeffe's lowest note, growled non-modal G1, from the ending of "Born to Kill".
6. 1:08 - Time for highs: easy C5s and D5s from the chorus of "Heartbreaker".
7. 1:21 - Easy C♯5s and one D5 from "Loaded Gun".
8. 1:31 - Clean E♭5s from "Rattle Your Bones".
9. 1:38 - Strained but powerful E5 from "Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast".
10. 1:49 - Great sustained E5 from "No Way but the Hard Way".
11. 1:55 - Lots of E5s from "Let's Ride", really impressive!
12. 2:11 - Streak of very powerful E5s from "What's Eatin' You".
13. 2:35 - Extreme F5s from "Runnin' Wild".
14. 3:19 - Few great F♯5s from "Blonde, Bad and Beautiful".

17. 4:13 - Lots of E5s and one G5 (O'Keeffe's highest full note shown) from "Chewin' the Fat".
18. 4:34 - Tons of G5s from "Armed and Dangerous".
19. 5:16 - Copious amounts of G5s from "Born to Kill", really good!

@hermygagala Hmm, but Bon Scott is a much more influential singer than he is, which for me makes him better. He had a more unique voice and I think could control his voice as well as Joel even though his range isnt as wide, just listen to the highway to hell album. Plus he sang much better live than Joel O'keef does, but that might be because Joel is playing his guitar whilst singing, I'm not sure. I still ove Joel though :)

I love this video, because I'm a huge fan of Airbourne since 2008. Unfortunately, he's not able to sing this way live. But he stills kickass, and it must be hard to sing as well as the studio versions of the songs. And I really love the last note from Raise The Flag, I think he did a really good job on it !

He screams too much in my opinion. But it's awsome, the same ACDC style

I wouldn't say that he is underrated. It is too early to judge that and considering how new of a band and vocalist that he is I would say that he isn't underrated at all. They have a lot of fame already. But still a much more technical vocalist than Bon Scott, a much wider range. Yes Bon obviously influenced him but Bon can't really hit the low notes like this guy. Nor can Bon control his voice as well or hit as many notes or octaves inbetween his highes and lows.Bon is still an amazing vocalist
