  • Don't be stupid! You should do ur homework. Phelps has broken many records without high tech suits (Athens olympics and Melbourne 2007, for exemple) and he was only 15 when broke his first record (in 2000/2001). So with or without LZR hes a champion. he has proved it already. What about the others?

  • Biedermann is a cheater because Biedermann's suit actually increases his bouyancy. The LZR only hellps resistance. So please do your own homework.

  • @Deadlycolli phelps went 1:51 at rome but yea this swim was impressive

  • Can everybody just shut up about the suits and enjoy the video? Please?

  • @MVPacMan23 Actually they both increased buoyancy. The x-glide just increased buoyancy more because it is made of 100% polyurethane whereas the LZR only had polyurethane panels over the areas with most resistance. ie the chest etc.

  • @hotjulio123 Both the old lzr and the arena x-glide were legal at the time. Speedo made a new lzr in 2010 which complied with the new regulations brought in at that time.

  • @MVPacMan23 Cheater? The suit was legal at the time ... I don't dispute that it did increase buoyancy ... but it wasn't illegal ... He wasn't cheating at all ... Phelps could have worn that suit but chose not to as he is sponsored by speedo ... How about you do your homework ... I am a good friend of Phelps ... when interviewed after about the loss he said "I was beaten by the swimmer not the suit." He is over it ... and you should be too.

  • @obembe8888 if they swam in speedos, phelps would win. hes the better swimmer

  • bierdermann isnt a cheater it was legal to were the suit then, and everyone had the opportunity to go with that suit also. phelps lost fair and square.

  • It is really sad that he retired, he was my favorite backstroker. always such a pleasure to watch, when i heard he was retiring i thought i was in some kind of awful dream. such a shame

  • Man! Coming home, Lochte really tightened up!

  • As for Biedermann, I would still say he's a better freestyler than Phelps. He probably wouldnt of broken his world record in the 200 if he hadnt been wearing the arena x-glide but he would of fully pushed Phelps for the gold. He definitely would of went under 1:44 anyway without that serious fly kick Phelps has off the walls. And what he did the 400 free was sick. He negative split the swim by 2 full seconds! Not even Ian Thorpe swam like that. Although obviously Thorpe is the king of freestyle.
