The CZ 75B is a semi-automatic handgun based on the famous Browning Hi-Power design. Chambered for 9mm Luger, this pistol is a common choice for personal defense. Watch along as Larry Potterfield, Founder and CEO of MidwayUSA, shoots the 75B to determine how it rates for concealed carry in three important areas.

  • I'm kinda confused as to how a 45 acp 230 grain jhp could be less lethal than a 9mm 124 grain jhp+p.

  • @sjr341 Knockdown factor is a theoretical rating system many things come into play in actually stopping a threat but the system they use in this series rates light fast bullets higher than heavy slow bullets.

  • @sjr341 Here's the technical/actual answer for this question: Kinetic energy aka muzzle energy = (.5) x (mass) x (velocity ^ 2). Because the velocity term is squared, velocity contributes exponentially more to the object's kinetic energy than does its mass. If you're interested in this you should also check out hydrostatic shock theory.

  • @sjr341

If you pause at :0:59 seconds you can see that the .45 ACP in 185 grain JHP + P is right up at the top of the list with the 30-30 Winchester Carbine round.

  • funny how the best handgun on the planet ranks quite lowly...whatev's trev's...

  • best 9MM ever made

  • @sjr341 Its all about expansion and energy delivered, The 9mm hp +p rounds like the golden saber and the hydroshock expand to .700 - .800" and thats the same if not more than a .45 hp, I will take my CZ85 with 16 ready to roll over a 1911 with 9 anyday, the 1911 is a great gun but the .45 is lacking in range and penetration through heavy clothing or glass, it just doesnt have the momentum to overcome obstacles, If I was going large caliber it would be a 10mm it has wieght and velocity

  • @hfa555 Very well put, brother, I I favor revolvers myself. I shoot okay with my roommates springfield xd 40 4" but i shoot better with my ruger sp101 .357 3" 5 shot, keeping speedloaders at the ready, I hit soupcans consistently at 50 feet. I have a friend who prefers a glock 22, another has a sig... and so on and so forth, it's the pistol that you know the best. Once in a while you will get surprised by something you shoot well, keep shooting :)

  • there is nothing better than the cz 75

  • I have a CZ 75D Compact and I LOVE it! I can draw and get two rounds in center mass in less than two seconds with the first being DA. (I'll admit it's two handed) One hand would be a little slower for the follow-up shot, Any gun that you can get comfortable with is better than one that stays on the dresser at home

  • Gyah! I thought this pistol woudl rate higher, must be the double action pull that bogged it down.

  • No single gun is perfect for all shooters. For me, the Glock 17 is the best overall. I can outshoot any other gun with it. It's not the gun but the combination of me and the gun.
