If you take the time, you can find one on E-bay. I just purchased the Select Ultra Swede with Seymour Duncan pups and a VSB finish. It's beautiful! It isn't a 2nd or used. I paid $575 w/case and free shipping. True Tone in Santa Monica wanted $649 just for the guitar, before tax. I think I got a great deal. I just had to look , take some time and look.

Nice demo indeed. But I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed with Hagstrom of late. Just like everyone else (it seems) they've raised the price of the their guitars-this one in particular- significantly, from 20 to 40 percent in some instances. I love the guitars, but, at the price they've now moved up to in alot of places, I'll look elswhere.

The inlays on the headstock, are they like an aged pearl, or more like the ones on an Epi, with the green and purple swirls running through them?

I prefer the Select Swede cuz of the slightly smaller scale, and the Burgundy Burst finish is absolutely marvellous! But if you really need the coil tap, or if you like another colour that only comes on the Select Super Swede, then go for it. There's really not much between them!

I paid 555 euros (~800 US dollars) for my piece at Thomann cyberstore. I have had it for a little more than half a year, and, got to say, I LOVE IT. It's one of the best, if not the best, guitars I have ever played.
