Ex-goalie Mike Richter manhandles the Wingate Test. Even retired, after 40, this guy can still put out the Watts.

  • bad protocol, u should have the weights on to start with and use the blue handle to take the resitence of the wheel. then drop it suddenly when u start recording

  • That would work only if you limit the pedal cadence before dropping the weight. If you let them spin super high just as the test starts, you never reach a true max cadence (and power). You have nowhere to go but down. The protocol here includes a brief acceleration phase, which prevents them from spinning out of control, then allows them to reach peak cadence in ~5 sec after the test starts, as the test should be. Why do you think this is bad?

  • how many watts did he get? looks really crappy, under 900 for sure

  • Try 1200. Flywheel resistance was 0.095 kg per kg body weight, much higher than you see in a typical classroom demonstration.

  • tiring just to watch that.

  • what a supportive trainer

  • @billbob98 because his name is stoner1999 that is why.

  • guy in red is hilarious. if he was my trainer, the test would be twice as hard because i would be laughing my ass off.

  • You cut the vid before he puked ... that's the real action w/ the Wingate test... lol

  • The athlete should be at a cadence of 100 when the weight is dropped. The test is so short that manually loading the weight isnt that great. Why didnt you selent manual weight drop and test start? Way more accurate. 1200 is a pretty decent PPO though.

  • Awesome vid and awesome job by Richter!

  • That video is great...Just great!!!
