23 years ago, at the time this EF-4 touched down, in Rebel Meadows, across from the old Franklin High School, I was in my upstairs bedroom apt....75 yards away! I was 17. I have not shaken those memories.
That late night of the 23rd well in the early hours of the 24th, I just remember the relentless rain. Wind howling. My bedroom window was pulsing-in then out-like a heart beating...ferociously. And the freight train sound. Bearing down on us. No sirens heard. Not sure they existed in '88.

I was in 206 Brentwood Pointe. I will never forget the phone call from a friend which was a warning to head to the garage. Thank you God for protecting us that day!

I was there also. I lived in Brentwood Pointe 1 right across from the storage bldgs. I was in 208, it is an end condo facing the street. I was asleep when the tornado woke me up. I will never forget going outside and finding wreaths from all over in my yard and tennis shoes from the storage bldg.

There was a line of trees between the model condos of Brentwood Pointe III (which were taken down to their slabs) and Brentwood Pointe II. They say that tornadoes take the path of least resistance and the line of trees made it jump the road. It was headed straight through the complex otherwise. A few condos in II did lose second floors. My condo was hit by the commercial beams from the buildings across the road. One put a hole in my bedroom wall and another in my storage unit. I have many pics.

It was 6:00am on Saturday, December 24, 1988. I was living at Brentwood Pointe across from the commercial bldgs in your film & my parents lived across from the houses in Brenthaven. It was terrifyg 4 my family & our neighbors. We gained respect 4 tornadoes & take every warning very seriously. Our priorities were forever changed. As long as people are ok, material things are just not that important. I am thankful for that early lesson. Thanks for posting your film. May I obtain a copy?
