Swallow the Sun encapsulates the styles of a few very talented bands and adds their own doom and melodic death flavor to create a thick musical gumbo. this hulking beast blends beauty and solitude to transform a mind like CKN's to a very reflective, almost psychological place, where he transfers music into metaphor, and language into poetry. A solid effort, which has become something Swallow the Sun is very well known for.

  • Got this album today and i have to say it's the best one i've heard so far this year.

  • I really like these reviews! Keep em coming.

  • You're spot on in your summary of the vibe StS has created in their albums (the contrast of the terrible harshness of life and its beauty, even in the most everyday situations...like a walk through a forest) ... I am a big StS fan, so I have come to know their music well. While I like the new album, I will say that it is their least dark and aggressive album, and most melodic/accessible. If people really want to find out what StS is really about, I suggest getting their first 4 albums first.

  • Swallow The Sun is one of my favorites, and THE MORNING NEVER CAME is my favorite by them. Here's hoping that this one is good too!

  • @coverkillernation well could you tell me where it is?

  • So im not at all a fan of death metal and not really of metal in general however i love opeth, you think ill enjoy this CKN?

  • @Downsider24

Testament as well, and hopefully Slayer.

  • Im not big into doom metal and especially not into STS last album... But I shall check this out
