Family Scamming Local Businesses--Male Caught on Tape at 4:35 AM

Suspect #1:Mark Allen Petrowski, W/M, DOB: 5/20/1966, 3401 Yale Circle, Riverview

Suspect #2:Victoria Ahedo, W/F, DOB: 12/13/49, traveling in a full size van with a roof rack.

Suspect #3:Tara Ahedo, W/F, DOB: 2/24/76, last seen driving a red 4 door vehicle.

Tampa Police Detectives are looking for a male and two females involved in scamming hundreds of dollars from at least five local businesses. On 11/5/09 at approximately 4:35 AM, Mark Petrowski entered the McDonalds drive through, located at 4009 N. Armenia Avenue and told the restaurant employee that he was there to pick up a refund. Several minutes before Petrowski arrived, the employee received a call from a female claiming to be a corporate management employee authorizing the refund for Petrowski. On 11/08/09 a similar scam occurred at the Chipotle Restaurant, located at 533 S. Howard Avenue. In this case Victoria Ahedo walked into the business and requested a refund.

The suspects used the same scheme to victimize at least three other area franchises, mainly fast food restaurants and gas stations. In all the cases, the female caller would use specific terminology related to the company in order to convince the store clerk to issue the refund.
