Actually, the bill changed tax rules only for S-corporations, and only on professionals like lawyers and accountants who could be taking advantage of the tax code to avoid paying payroll taxes. The Democrats took the additional step of saying the rule change would only apply to individuals who reported more than $200,000 in income. The bill is aimed squarely at high-income professionals who are taking advantage of a loophole, not small or even very small businesses.

This is a good reason for us to vote for a regular “Joe” rather than the well-to-do guys we continue to vote for-he’s voting to keep interest down because he has to pay them. If all the politicians had their homes on foreclosure or running the risk, they too would have voted to have the problem resolved. Maybe Federal Gov't should get out of the student loan business??? Every time government gets involved, everything gets more expensive. Of course, I'm a dreamer.

If the federal Gvmt hadn't started manipulating interest rates in the first place, we wouldn't even need to talk about this. Why did these people take out loans in the first place...? Because the the money was cheap. STOP MANIPULATING THE MARKETS.
