@AWickedMind "America (and American) bashing is so common it borders on trendy." I could not agree more.
@TheRockerStudios I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Liberal, and even I find you whiny and pretentious. Says something...

@DeeM10123, Joni Mitchell was singing about the cold war? I think not. Probably the Vietnam war, since it came out in like 1969. And just because that's what the song was originally written about, doesn't mean that it doesn't apply to other situations, other times since then that we started a needless war.

@DeeM10123 A Canadian as in the infamous Joni Mitchell? ;)

For those of you who keep hearing from folks that "music is dead"....all that needs to be done is; Tell them to buy A Perfect Circle Album, or any of Maynard's music for that matter, and play it through a good system. Their thoughts should be changed instantly. This song is a perfect example and if they dissagree, then music isnt dead, the belief of good music is dead.

I seriously almost cried. This is amazing!
This song was originally wrote by a Canadian about the violent streak that America had in the Cold War, We traded a co-existance and peacfull demeanor (the fiddle) for that of a war machine, trying to destroy Communism (the drum). America did everything besides invasion (in some places they did this too) to stop countries from becoming Communist. It made us appear evil to many nations, our neighbor Canada included. Its not about New Order bullshit-just the Cold War
