Probably through wifi. Or he might use internet on the mobile network through the iphone. I don't know what they normally use in the US

Keep a good backup of this thing because as hard as you bump I would not be surprised if you go through hard drives really fast on this. Sector errors probably. You may have to convert the mac mini to an SSD Drive.

Use the itunes visualizer while you are playing music it would look pretty sick.
