Strange sound i found while scanning on my ft-7800. Would like to know what it is.

  • It's a beacon or some digital encoding. Probably an encrypted system in the business band,

  • packet or data transmission..you need a program to decode it and an interface board.

  • @ JamesJB32 It´s problaly a one-way TX or RX frequency of data traffic, if you could get this into some kind of modem, you probaly could receive data from this trasmittion... of course this connection request or data could be encrypted... but i believe you've got something.

    It could be even from any sattelite of any space telescope sending space pictures... i not sure, it's just a guess...

  • It is GPS positon reporting. It is similar to APRS but in business bands. They are receiving the GPS signal and reporting on UHF. If you take notice you can hear the other far away mobiles reporting also.

  • sounds like a pageing service of some kind...
