@memberson sounds like you need to do a carb cleaning and carb kit on it...when you have to put the choke on to make it run it either means the carbs dirty or it has water in the fuel...putting the choke on draws fuel from different areas to richen it up for cold start...what size motor is it? and where are you located...if you close i could help you out

Hello,
I like this video, but I'm have a hell of a time when 87 Yamaha just started it up today Jane.all the mission coils. But is doing the same thing as last year runs only with the choke wide open or partially closed. I did a compression check today. All cylinders are 95 PSI or 98 PSI in that range.
I bought it online three years ago have not been able to get it to run. Still, it will not idle for longer than a few minutes then it dies need your help in this matter. Thank you

@memberson I wish I could help you, but I honestly know nothing about that particular motor and very little about motors in general. I would probably bring it to your local marina and see if they can take a look at it. Good luck, I hope you get it to run. :)
