Christmas 2011. "Local" musicians Kenny Holladay and Coco Robicheaux died within months of each other late this year, and friends gathered at Checkpoint Charlie Music Club (501 Esplanade) to play music in their memory and to help their children with donations and proceeds from an auction of "Dr. Bob" folk art and other local goodies. Coco and Kenny mentored and influenced many musicians, particularly those who -- like them -- perform in the streets and clubs of the French Quarter and nearby Frenchmen Street.

This video not only shows Walter playing his blues guitar with his teeth but also includes a fantastic harmonica solo from Andy J. Forest, and the hot keyboard of Mike Burkart. The other great musicians are Sam Price (bass), Doug Belote (drums); Hubie Vigreau (conga drums) and Marc Hewitt (guitar).

"Stormy Monday" was written by Aaron Thibeaux "T-Bone" Walker and first recorded in 1947.
