he also had radio communication problem in chinese gp which meant he was unable to communicate with the team about strategy and later caused him to fall of the cliff and enabled victory for hamilton. Furhtermore, little known is the fact that he had to endure the entire german gp with malfunctioning overheating brakes.
Vettel had no kers for the entire 2nd half of the malaysian gp. He also had no kers for the 2nd half of the chinese gp which may or may not have cost him the victory. He also had no kers for spain q which cost him pole position and in the spain gp he had no kers for the 2nd half which almost cost him victory. Furthermore Vettel suffered a puncture in abu dhabi while leading and a gearbox problem in brazil while leading but Webber had no problems of the sort. Seb was unluckier than Mark in 2011.
@Anime998877 Although Vettel had problems with relability as well, Mark was undoubtedly hit harder. First of all he couldn't use kers for the entire first half of the malaysian gp. Next weekend in china kers wasn't available to him in Q1 which is the main reason he couldn't get into Q2 and had to start 18th. If Redbull were having problems with their kers at the start of the year it seemed marks car would have it. Lets not take anything away from vettel though. He had a great year.
@xflynskywlkr23 - What mechanical problems did Webber have? He finished all but one race where he crashed on his own accord. If you're talking about kers problems, Vettel had those too. And the only reason Webber even won a race in 2011 was because Vettel had a gearbox problem.
@Anime998877 Yes but it must be said that webber was the one who had all the mechanical problems in 2011 while vettel had almost none so although it wouldn't have made much difference in the points, 2011 isn't really a true indication of the disparity in their skills as drivers neither was 2010 really.
The only reason Webber even had a chance of the 2010 title was because he had a dominant and reliable car while his team mate's broke down while leading 3 different races. Not to mention Vettel's errors in races like turkey and spa,how on earth Webber didn't win the 2010 title is beyond me.. In 2011 every one of Vettel's problems from 2010 ceased to exist, so we saw how the 2010 championship really should have gone plus a little extra from Vettel's natural development and confidence as a driver.
@KingProBoxMan As for tyres, I know they have the same compounds but the Pirellis are particularly harsh to oversteery driving, and Vettel was quicked to adapt his style. You simply can't be much of an F1 fan if you think success boils down to effort. Vettel has driven better and eliminated the rookie mistakes that nearly sunk his 2010 campaign, and he deserves praise for that. But all the drivers out there are trying to go fast, and it's an insult to them to say 'try harder'.
