Too bad he sold his talent to the Vegas big show hoopla crap on the strip ...like Wayne Newton...or those really, really, really bad movies. Too bad. A performer that sold his soul for money...Oh well. Yet, what a talent! We knew you were young and naive, like the rest of us. R.I.P. Elvis.

@readyseve It is true...Elvis' passion and his genius never faltered...it just came in several different packages...even Gospel music which I don't care for...but when I put my bias for gospel music aside, I am in awe of his genius in that genre as well. (only man inducted into 4 music halls of fame). My fave gospel is You'll Never Walk Alone. That recording to me is the most passionate heartfelt recording I've ever heard in my life. Just hearing it almost changed my life! best wishes

@TrueLight55 So true its ridiculous to criticise him for moving away from his 50s material. He was evolving musically and only a fool would fail to hear how he stretched vocally in these years, His repertoire may have changed but not the unfailing passion of his voice.

I disagree with the all or nothing thing. I like what I like and move on. There is too much to choose from to waste time listening to music that doesn't do it for me.
elvis at his very best
