hahha what i meant to say was since Gehrig had ALS in 1939 he only went 4 for 28 all singles which is a .143 average

YES!!!! exactly!!!! and he would've batted a bit higher, if he hadn't taken some at-bats in 1939. As has ALS he went 4 for 28 which is a .143 batiing average i think, not sure

Gehrig was a heroic figure ... his legend will live on....only ALS could stop him.

HAHA that was slightly funny......... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!!! Manny!!!! Bonds!!!! WHAT???? First, Gehrig had ALS which is a neurological - degenerative diease NOT cancer. Secondly, Gehrig had outstanding numbers!!!!!!!! remember he only played for only 14 FULL seasons and parts of an additional two seasons!!!!!! NUMBERS: 493 HRS which is an average of 35 per year, 100 plus RBIs per year, not to mention the games played in.
