And when ur troop fight hand to hand, u shouldn't let the artillery fire because it can kill ur unit (maybe u know this). Luckily that u had chosen an easy mod, so u can win the battle. I agree with u to put the artillery in the lead (because if u left them behind, they would kill the lead troops when firing), but when enemies were too close, u must put them back. The artillery is very important in battle. That's the strategy of these kinds of battle.

Your strategy is so awful! You should never let the artillery stand without any protected troops! And when the enemies charging, you did nothing and let them be destroyed (!). I don't know what the hell that the behind troops was doing, watching their comrades dying? You shouldn't use artillery to attack the enemies that stand on a higher place than ur troops. Ur artillery's range will be limited by the terrain like that.
