Part 90 - Chapter 2, Stanza 59-61
http://www.crystalclarity.com/product.php?code=BEBPB The Essence of the Bhagavad Gita Explained by Paramhansa Yogananda as remembered by his disciple, Swami Kriyananda. This book shares the profound insights of Paramhansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi, as remembered by one of his few remaining direct disciples, Swami Kriyananda.

This revelation of India's best-loved scripture approaches it from an entirely fresh perspective, showing its deep allegorical meaning and also its down-to-earth practicality. The themes presented are universal: how to achieve victory in life in union with the divine; how to prepare for life's "final exam," death, and what happens afterward; how to triumph over all pain and suffering.

Swami Kriyananda worked with Paramhansa Yogananda in 1950 while the Master completed his commentary of the Bhagavad Gita. At that time Yogananda commissioned him to disseminate his teachings world-wide. Kriyananda has in his lifetime lectured, taught, and written over one hundred books based on Yogananda's teachings.

The Essence of the Bhagavad Gita is available from Crystal Clarity Publishers.

  • And yes ive had soem struggles swamiji but i keep bouncing back :)

  • @TheOverfiendDj That's the spirit! Never give up!

  • Is Samadhi like experiencing death where the soul leaves the body for a short while and then comes back?

  • @TheOverfiendDj No, in Samadhi, you do not leave your body as you do when experiencing physical death--though you could if you wished. Instead you merge your human consciousness with God's consciousness. Whether you keep a body or not is your (and God's) decision; and also you are free from the necessity to reincarnate again in any other body, at any future time.

  • @AnandaWorldwide I dont plan on giving up Swamiji :) thank you

  • @AnandaWorldwide oh now i have a better understanding of it.I think i would need to experience it to truly understand it though :)

  • Very true, So important to acknowledge that no matter what attainments, they can be lost with wrong choices. I feel that there are different challenges inherent to different stages of life. Certain samkaras of attachment may be much stronger in some stages than in others. So if I feel quite transcendent of certain attachments now, it's always possible that the samskaras of those attachments could arise in another incarnation and another stage of life. So we should not rest on laurels.
