What I know is most of the people don't pay taxes.. the local gov't seems bankrupt or the mayor is corrupt. My mother is from Wao, Lanao. Relocated to tarlac for a peaceful life. federal warlords rules the city.

@twentius777, correct. thats the main reason there's so much criminality in the province. the mayors and politicians don't live in the province. they reside in nice houses in iligan, cagayan and even manila. basically, there IS NO GOVERNMENT in the province... ABSOLUTE CORRUPTION IS THE GAME.

I have a great respect with Maranaws! I have a Maranaw friend who I am hanging out with when I am in the country. My cousin is a PhD of Biology in MSU-Marawi Campus in 1986 who was so proud of showing me the lake and the mountain and the mosque at MSU but that was 20 years ago

Dapat po talaga pagtuunan ng pansin ang mga Elementary Schools at Madrasah etc. sa ARMM. Kawawa po ang mga bata doon. Di sila masyadong napagtutuunan ng pansin ng local government nila.

To Noynoy: Prioritize po ang classrooms at teachers sa ARMM kc lack of education ang dahilan kung bakit maraming nagrerebelde at resentful sa gobyerno.

Dito po sa Luzon, medyo healthy ang eductional infra kc bantay sarado mga pulitiko dito. E sa mindanao, palakasan ng pulitiko pero di naman lhat.

Federalism i think is the only answer to ARMM problem. But they need to be self-sufficient and can stand on their own feet first, ARMM largest tax source are from outside their region. Cebu Region should be autonomous because they can. Also for Davao Region, they're ready to be autonomous. We should not just focus growth here in Luzon (especially central luzon) because there's already feeling of resentment in Mindanao and Visayas and they feel they're being robbed.

There is no need to make a hasty generalization about the Maranaos. They need a great awakening and a leader who can lead them. Christians and Muslims must learn to put aside their mistrust for each other and learn to value each other as brothers and sisters. Maranao Muslims also need to trash away their prejudice against the christians and this works in both ways.
