@KevinBusomjack Thankfully that statue is gone for good. Tom Church, the guy who made it, can't even give it away. It's sitting on display in his workshop in Brechin.

@KevinBusomjack They do, and they have to lock it in a cage every night because otherwise it gets vandalised (It's had its face gouged off, been hit by a hammer, covered in paint and so on) by the locals who are quite annoyed at having their history trivialised.

This of course only creates a whole new irony... A statue with the word "Freedom" written on the bottom which is locked in a cage. A truly awful statue.
