Not really, many buildings were left in ruins for years during the Soviet era. Only after its collapse, some buildings got rebuilt with the requests and funds from Germany. I'm not saying that the city was not rebuilt by the Russian people, but from a foreigners' point of view, most of the Russian (sorry, I shouldn't say that, should say Soviet, because proper Russian architectures are actually very beautiful) buildings are monstrosities, basically ruin the beauty of the city

@unbanane Königsberg is still in ruins. "Kaliningrad" only has some Soviet housing blocks and ugly 1960s colonist 'architecture'. You should not abuse Königsberg to spread hatred against Germans or between Germans and Russians.

@kaliningradetz Soviet artillery destroyed most around the centre. But you are correct, in July 1944, the British RAF destroyed the historical city and castle of Königsberg.

lol, you think a whole province of russian people who call this place home want to be transfered over to germany. especially when this was the price germany had to pay for war crimes and the sort. russians built this place up from the ground.
