There are several instances of "bleached-out" footage shown on 9/12. Why would the network mess so much with the contrast of what is known as the "dive bomber" shot (or any shot, for that matter) which looked clear when shown on CBS in the afternoon of 9/11 and had already been edited into montages? In this clip which I call "somewhat visible Dive Bomber (allegedly Flight 175)", a different montage than before is shown.

Notice how the view of the Twin Towers seen in previous airings of the Dive Bomber shot is shown from :21 to :25—*with no "bleached-out" contrast*—but cuts to a close-up of the smoking, plane-shaped hole.

Later, at :33, the editor has cut back to the same shot of the Twin Towers *after* the "plane" has hit.

As the fireball rises up, the scene bleaches out again. Then, at :40, we see a bleached-out, zoomed-in shot of a blurry thing we are told was an airplane.

At :50, same thing.

This "bleaching-out" calls to mind videographer Evan Fairbanks' "white flash":
