These people in Canada (Buddhist Vihare Society) staged those two dramas and put them onto You-tube without proper approval from Mrs Gunawardana. It is unethical

You probably do not know the real facts about late Mr. Dayananda Gunawardana. Almost all Sri Lankan artists respect late Mr Gunawardana and his creations. Mrs Irangnai Gunawaradana, his (late DG) son and original artists including Jackson Anthony, Vijaya Nandasiri, Rodney Warnakula etc are performing all these dramas and I personally know the Naribena team is not happy about these video footages.

Of course not, they should be proud instead. People still like these, they just can't get what they want. and you can't blame anybody for lack of ability again, will you blame cricket fans if they signing songs and publish it in internet, Think will you!

Hello Mr mechpro03 - Most probably you do not know that late Mr. Gunawaradanas wife and his family are still staging all the dramas using original the cast in Sri Lanka. Showing these unprofessional images will hurt them.

What the hell what you are talking. Without knowing the real facts please do not comments. These people are steeling late Mr Dayananda Gunawaranas creations. Performing in a small overseas community function (showing free of charge) is a different matter, but putting the same in a video format on You-tube is completely different.

about the people showing their skill, you can't blame them for their lack of skill. this is just a group of people having fun, this is not something commercial. Neither you or low can prevent from people enjoying what they like. You self centered people think you are the owners of tradition and culture. Once a great play is born it is owned by that society.

that attitude of yours, that is exactly why these things are not preserved. If you want to buy a film you can do online. I could not found a single reference to buy good quality video of these stage plays online, I'm not in sl but I would like to know where is your so called "all around" in SL.
