@bobetteboo EL's "sad story" means absolutely nothing with its plethora of plot holes. I'm sorry but I cannot understand how people can view it as a "wonderful" series, and I seriously think it's overrated.

then again, is it bad to like both EL and Higurashi? They are both so wonderful. I think I should say I like them the same because I haven't read the Higurashi manga or played the games.... I LOVE both, they are so inspiring! Don't hate me for saying MY opinion...

@bobetteboo Elfen Lied sucks in comparison to Higurashi. EL has way too many plot-holes to deem it a good series.

@Jedic123 I guess I do like Higurashi more but because Elfen Lied only has 13 eps it's hard to choose, but I like Elfen Lied manga better, so as an anime Higurashi - as a manga EL

@bobetteboo Higurashi has quite a ridiculous amount of story because of all the separate fragments that branch off into their own story lines. Elfen Lied has a single straightforward story line. So, if you want more blood I'd suggest Elfen Lied. If you wanted more story and feeling I'd suggest Higurashi. (Not saying Elfen Lied doesn't have feeling, because it has quite a bit at times, but I just feel for the characters in Higurashi so much more. Personal view. )

@NSwisher15721 I'm with you on this, EL has a LOT of story but to compare it to another one with a LOT of story (Higurashi) it's just hard but idk wich one I like more, maybe EL just a tad more....

I like the fact they based the scenery on an existing village in Gifu.
