Self-capital, Episode 1. Self-capital is an ongoing video series by Melanie Gilligan. It was first shown Sept. 2009. This is episode one of three that have been made so far, however Gilligan plans to make more episodes of the program.

In the context of individual psychological therapy it does seem like treatments based on Silvan Tomkins theory of affect aim to increase the patient's awareness and self-knowledge of the biological mechanisms at work in their own psyche. So that might parallel Buddhist practice in some ways. But I don't really know enough about Tompkins's therapeutic method. It could be that he rebalances the patient's affect actions that don't involve an particular conscious awareness on the part of the patient
