well u have to put one coin at a time into the thing in order to sort it. But your essentially already sorting it if you have to put one coin in at a time.

my bank gave my a plastic version of this 35 years ago with my First Bank Account. Lloyds Bank. It worked well, including the english 50p (hexagonal)

It's a shame the Aussie 50c piece is a dodecagon - this invention would never work for us without some modification.
