  • I just tried that 'Quick Hands Drill' w/ my catchers the other day. I found on numerous occasions that the catchers started to lose there glove and in one case, my catcher did lose his glove and I didn't realize it and continued to throw balls at him. Funny, but seiously, any tips?

  • @EndoBirdd I've never had a problem with our catchers' mitts falling off! Encourage your guys to speak up if they ever need to stop in the middle of the drill because I definitely do not recommend catching baseballs barehanded. Other than that, I don't really know what to tell you...maybe they should tighten their mitts?

  • Excellent. I'm looking forward to working with our 10 years olds on the skills and drills you have presented here (although I don't think we'll be using an 88 mph pitching machine).

  • Thanks! I hope they help your catchers! They might not be catching 90mph fastballs yet, but you'd be surprised how quickly they'll get better when they practice catching high velocity balls.

  • Proper nuances of catching is something lost among youth baseball programs, especially little league. It is extremely hard to find people or videos that discuss the top priority position of catcher. I teach catching to many and always enjoy little extra things that can add to my knowledge. Making it easier to pass it on. So far your videos are among the best I've seen. If you are planning to make videos on the top ways to condition a catcher, especially quick feet, I would love to know. Thanks.

  • Again, thanks for the kind words. I take a lot of pride in teaching catchers to receive properly and believe that more people should as well!

I am planning on adding more videos, but with baseball season quickly approaching, I probably won't get around to it until the off-season. Foot quickness would be a good topic. I also plan on doing a video on arm pre-hab. If you have any other ideas, or topics that you'd like to hear more about please email me and let me know. Thanks

  • @MrHamburgers24 Love this video to.

  • Quick hands was crazy

  • hey wat is the chest protector?thanks

  • i would of shit my self on the machine throwing it

  • @EndoBirdd Get a smaller catchers mitt. Haha I'm only kidding :)

  • I like the rapid fire drill

  • do u teach catchers to place glove arm outside of their knee? in this video i know the catcher receives directly over his knee and it looks like it causes him problems during the rapid fire drill. he has to point his glove down to receive the ball which ive always been taught is a big no no. if he had to receive a hard throwing lefty with a dirty slider, i'd imagine he'd struggle somewhat receiving that pitch down under his left knee, because he'd have to go around to get to the spot.
