new order way ahead of there time !!! seen them just after ian curtis died and they become new order saw them many times after and they just got better and better !! saw them in NEW YORK and the yanks couldnt beleive there was a british band playing the stuff they did !! they thought the electro sound was theres i told them new order had been doing it for yrs !! when they played BLUE MONDAY !! THE CROWD FUCKING ROCKED !!! good times /great memories !!! thank god i was there in the day !!!!!

@rudyprotrudy08 It is thought that Martin might be Martin Moscrop from A Certain Ratio. They were on Factory Records until 1987.
Martin Hannett was co-founder of Factory and a producer of some of New Order, but not Confusion. Was he involved with Factory in 1987?
This version of Confusion was recorded in May 1987.
Maybe one of them was in the studio or maybe they just might hate The Housemartins, we may never know.

@rudyprotrudy08 - I've wondered this too. I like the idea of Hooky snarling at the popular Hull combo, but I also know other people thinking he just says "Fookin hell, Martin" (Hannett) after a lengthy studio session.
