I do agree with what you just said. It is a matter of priorities. People should take care of themselves and their families before taking care of the spirits. If any spirit (please quote me on this) requires that you or your family suffer and starve for their benefit, then these spirits are not worth your time because they don't mean you or your family well. Spirit or mortal, that is still abuse! .

You got a point there. Those who are used to being in power try to stay in power. That is why people with spiritual power is feared and revered. Some white people don't like that. It is one of those things that always gave blacks the upper hand.

Vodun is and was the way that the Africans got the whites out of SanDomingue. They had no other resources but thier faith in the spirits that in return helped them survive and get out of slavery.
