Video from this year's decent LBL. Great teamwork by SaxoBank, but the performance was almost too dominant. Philippe Gilbert and Lotto took a shot at it, but I really would have liked to have seen more organization out of the other teams. That having been said, I can understand why their legs all would have been toasted.

  • I don't agree with CosmoCatalano about Gilbert dropping himself instead of following Schleck. Schleck was just too good for him, because Gilbert didn't look back after he was dropped by schleck and afterwards he said to Sporza that Schleck was just too good for him...Great analysis though

  • Yes, after many months of consideration, I agree. :)

  • Hey... got a question; when you talk about the "spring classic tradition" do you mean that every year some rider attack in the LBL on exactly THAT hill... or (less likely) do you mean that in every race Chris Anker is in he attacks on some hill...?

  • Chris Anker attacked at or near 50k to go in pretty much every classic he raced this season. He is fun to watch.

  • I also think Quick.Step is so all-in for Flanders and Roubaix that they might not want riders entertaining the notion of focusing on anything else in the same month.

  • Yeah, I mean, literally, you can translate it. But there is no idiom that carries the same connotations in English. That's why I used the Wikitionary page, which defines it as "female doyen".

  • @cosmocatalano I agree when you say that he's fun to watch. And we'll see him on the Giro :)

  • Very nice.

Wisdome... that all sounds about right to me!

  • I'm thrilled to have found your " How the race was won"-videos. Just sent a saturday evening with the 2009. season, great stuff.

  • hey, I saw you, Cosmocatalano, on today's Saxo Bank press conference at Ustream...

  • awesome!! thanks for posting and analyzing.

  • He said he was ok after san sebastian. People say he's too young to race two big races in a year, any truth to that? I thought the hilly stages would be to his advantage than World Championship race...
