Our goal has always been to create amplifiers that are tools for musicians. Paul and Doug have spent years working closely together to design, build, and tweak our amplifiers, but artist feedback is also an integral part of the process. We consistently ask artists to test-drive our amps, and we learn from their experience and their feedback. Amplifiers are musical instruments, and these artists understand that. Their ears and intuition are invaluable in helping us find the best tone and build the best amplifiers we can.

  • @dyakel101 I believe he's referring to how you use your guitar and your fingers.

  • "The Original Sewell has a smooth tone that was crafted to give an expressive, vocal quality to LEAD work. Notes BLOOM and SUSTAIN with RICH HARMONICS enhancing your fundamental notes." quote from PRS site.. and very true statement

  • Idk man but I played this amp today for the first time and all I have to say is WOW! Best blues tone I have ever heard out of any amp. Not sure how versatile or pedal friendly it is but the tone just fuking kills.

  • @Howardtripper It's part of the journey and as a player you strive for the tones that are in your head. This is your musical voice and it's worth seeking out tools that can get as close to that tone as possible. Unfortunately, the average guy on the street doesn't know the difference between a great player and a decent one either. So, I don't think what the average guy hears is a good measuring stick. I wouldn't live life based on anything regarding the "average guy's" perception.

  • @dyakel101 ---- I agree. Very silly claim. Also, "this is the best amp in the entire world" stuff is a bit ridiculous too. "Best" for what? There are quite a few styles of music out there. That type of hype always turns me off.

  • @Howardtripper what you don't get is most musicians are chasing that tone for their own ears. i know i will never be 100% happy with any song i play or sound i make. it makes me better, try harder. and i don't give a continental dam what it sounds like to anyone else. so if you are the back up band for brittany spears your thinking is appropriate. if you are an artist who loves guitar and is not just trying to produce a product for some market....not so much.

  • I don't really know how the last guy can say the amp accurately produces "your tone" with out changing it. The amp is part of what creates "your tone." With out an amp an electric guitar wouldn't have any tone.

  • @Howardtripper what you say is very true, but for me I know that if I feel like I have a really good tone, I play better and I feel more confident in what I'm playing. It's also important if a musician has a lot of guitar-playing fans, and guys like Derek Trucks definitely do.

  • To the average guy in the street he cannot tel the difference between amplifiers yet musicians strive so hard to get that so called perfect tone i ask my self is it really worth it in the end if you are the only person that hears it and no one else gives a continental dam

  • by the way..is that a custom 22?
