As someone who was born in Laos, who came to the West as a boy --- with memories of the country & the people general impoverishment and lack of formal education --- I'm so disgusted by the average behaviors, beliefs, & practices undertaken by "the Hmong community" & "Hmong peole," I've stopped engaging with them.

Even here in America, 14-19 year-old girls are routinely married off, from having sex and/or getting pregnant from having sex (not mature or well informed enough to use contraception).

It is outrageous & unacceptable for old men in the 30s to 60s to go back to Laos --- with a few thousand dollars as spending money --- & take advantage of 13-19 year old Hmong girls.

@chonh2010 - i think that's no differences from our hmongs in the u.s. also don't wear our traditonal clothes too (& not uniforms). it's a different era now, we can't really tell everyone to wear (uniforms). if anyone ask, i still think the hmongs in Laos wear more hmong clothes then the hmongs in the u.s.
